Widely hailed as the "Kisan Masiha" (Messiah of Farmers) in Rajasthan, Chaudhary Kumbha Ram Arya was a legendary freedom fighter, parliamentarian, and agrarian reformer. He spearheaded the anti-feudal struggle against Jagirdars (landlords) in Bikaner state and systematically built Rajasthan's agricultural cooperative and marketing network to give peasant-farmers ownership over land, subsidized credit, and fair market prices.
