1. Introduction
1. This Intellectual Property Rights Policy governs the ownership, use, licensing, publication, storage, and protection of content, materials, data, branding, software, and user submissions made available on or through CoopWiki.
2. CoopWiki operates as an independent public information and community-contribution platform relating to cooperative societies in India. By accessing, using, contributing to, uploading content on, or interacting with the platform, users agree to comply with this Intellectual Property Rights Policy and all related platform policies.
2. Ownership of Platform Intellectual Property
1. All rights, title, and interest relating to the CoopWiki platform, including its software, source code, database architecture, compilation structures, search systems, moderation systems, layouts, interface design, branding, logos, visual elements, platform structure, functionality, workflows, proprietary systems, and operational frameworks shall remain the exclusive property of CoopWiki and its licensors, unless otherwise stated.
2. No provision of this policy shall be interpreted as transferring ownership of any intellectual property rights belonging to CoopWiki to users, contributors, societies, moderators, or third parties.
3. Users shall not copy, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, commercially exploit, scrape, republish, modify, or create derivative works from proprietary platform components without prior written authorization from CoopWiki.
3. User-Generated Content Ownership
1. Users retain ownership of original content lawfully created and submitted by them to the extent permissible under applicable law.
2. However, by submitting, uploading, editing, publishing, transmitting, contributing, or otherwise making content available on CoopWiki, users grant CoopWiki a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, non-exclusive, and unrestricted license to host, store, reproduce, archive, display, distribute, publish, adapt, modify, translate, summarize, publicly communicate, publicly display, index, cache, create derivative works from, and otherwise use such content in connection with the operation, moderation, preservation, improvement, promotion, administration, and archival maintenance of the platform.
3. This license shall survive account deletion, content removal requests, termination, suspension, inactivity, or withdrawal of participation where retention is necessary for:
1. revision history,
2. archival integrity,
3. moderation records,
4. audit logging,
5. legal compliance,
6. dispute resolution,
7. fraud prevention,
8. public-interest preservation,
9. operational continuity.
4. Public Information and Factual Data
1. CoopWiki may aggregate, index, organize, display, archive, or publish publicly available factual information relating to cooperative societies, including registration details, office addresses, publicly available financial information, publicly available board member details, notices, filings, operational records, and historical information obtained from lawful public sources.
2. Users acknowledge that raw factual information, publicly available records, non-original compilations, and public-domain information may not be subject to exclusive ownership claims.
3. Nothing in this policy shall prevent CoopWiki from lawfully indexing, aggregating, archiving, or displaying publicly available information obtained from lawful sources for informational and reference purposes.
5. Society Names, Logos, and Third-Party Rights
1. All society names, trademarks, logos, trade names, service marks, brand identifiers, and third-party intellectual property displayed on CoopWiki remain the property of their respective owners.
2. The inclusion of society names, logos, or publicly available identifying information on CoopWiki does not imply ownership, affiliation, endorsement, certification, sponsorship, approval, or partnership unless expressly stated otherwise.
3. Users shall not upload or use logos, trademarks, copyrighted materials, documents, images, or proprietary content without lawful authorization or a valid legal basis.
4. CoopWiki reserves the right to remove, restrict, disable, archive, or modify content alleged to infringe intellectual property rights.
6. Copyright Complaints and Takedown Requests
1. Any person claiming infringement of copyright, trademark, proprietary rights, or intellectual property may submit a complaint to CoopWiki through the designated reporting or grievance mechanisms.
2. Complaints should reasonably identify:
1. the allegedly infringing material,
2. the nature of the claimed rights,
3. supporting ownership details,
4. the location of disputed content,
5. contact information of the complainant,
6. supporting documents where applicable.
1. Upon review, CoopWiki may remove, restrict, disable, archive, or investigate disputed content at its discretion and may request additional verification or documentation before taking action.
2. CoopWiki reserves the right to reject complaints that are incomplete, abusive, fraudulent, misleading, or unsupported.
7. Repeat Infringer Policy
1. CoopWiki reserves the right to suspend, restrict, terminate, or permanently ban users, contributors, or entities repeatedly involved in copyright infringement, trademark misuse, impersonation, unauthorized uploads, intellectual property violations, or abusive takedown practices.
2. The platform may also preserve moderation logs, complaint records, historical revisions, and enforcement records relating to intellectual property disputes for legal compliance and operational integrity.
8. Disclaimer of Ownership and Verification
